International Women’s History Day: Free Women’s History Tours!

In honor of Women’s International History Day, Old City Park will be offering a free Dallas Women’s History Tour at 1:30 p.m. Wednesday, March 8. This tour will share the vibrant histories of the women who helped grow our community.
Hear about Sarah Cockrell, the business-savvy widow who came to posses about half of Dallas’ wealth, Portia Washington Pittman, the gifted music teacher who taught at the school named after her father, Dr. Ollie Louis Bryan, the first female Black dentist in the South, Maria Luna, a young widowed mother and one of Dallas’s earliest Hispanic entrepreneurs as a tortilla maker, and many others.
