For those looking to have more hands-on time, join us for our two-Saturday basic blacksmithing class. Learn the fundamental skills and blacksmithing tools needed to forge. You’ll begin by building a coal fire and discovering the difference between iron, mild, and tool steel. Over the two days, you’ll blacksmith without modern tools to make nails, a nail header, a high carbon steel punch, and a pair of tongs. Classes are small so you have maximum anvil time and one-on-one instruction with an experienced blacksmith. No prior blacksmithing skills or knowledge is needed.
