Millermore Tour

Millermore mansion, the first historic home brought to Old City Park, holds the stories of three generations of the Miller family.  This house is available for viewing only by private tour because most of the barricades have been removed. This allows our guests more access to the three bedrooms, family parlor, office and dining room. During the tour, participants hear the fascinating stories of the family and the influence they had not only on Dallas but also the state of Texas.

Black History Tour

Committed to the belief that Black History Month is every month, Old City Park offers a tour highlighting the struggles and triumphs of North Texas’s Black community for the city’s first 100 years. Participants will learn about the first woman “legally” hung in Texas and the 1860 fire when most of downtown Dallas burned and three men were persecuted for it without trial. Other stories include the integration of Dallas schools, Texas’s first Black surgeon and dentist who both had practices in our town, and Harriet Mason, the little girl given to the Gano family  when she was 7 years old who, 80 years later, shared her story for the Federal Writers’ Project’s “Slave Narratives.”

Paranormal Investigation

Have you heard about our mysterious lady in the window, the little girl in a yellow dress, or a hotel guest who never checked out? Want to know more or try to make contact with them? This tour is designed for those interested in serious paranormal investigation.  While we lack tangible evidence of any supernatural entities, enough staff and visitors have had sufficient otherworldly experiences to earn us a spot on Dallas’s most haunted list. Our experienced tour guides will provide flashlights, EMF devices, a spirit box and portal, REM pod and Victorian dowsing rods to use during the investigation. Visitors are welcome to bring their own equipment as well. This three-hour tour includes an exploration of MIllermore as well as one or two other purportedly haunted Park buildings such as the Renner Schoolhouse, Sullivan House, and Worth Hotel. This tour is limited to ages 13 and up.

Women’s History Tour

Dallas has had a long history of fascinating but far too often overlooked females. We offer a themed tour of Old City Park while sharing stories of some of these women who bucked the societal trends to make a name for themselves. They possessed over half the wealth of Dallas, stood up for equal education, advocated for birth control, held professions long considered male-only realms, demanded voting rights, supported orphans and widows, served time in prison for horse theft, and brought us some of the best food in Texas.
